When The Prickly Pear cactus dries out the skeleton left behind has quite a beautiful lacy pattern. I have found that if I press parts in some mold compound I can make various textures that are a beautiful start for a wax or bronze clay carving. I have created many shapes and variations and integrated them in my pendant, cuff and even ring collections.
